Established in 2022 by two seasoned professionals with over 15 years of experience in the food industry, The Lemongrass Boutique Catering was born from a shared pursuit of culinary excellence and refined hospitality. The name “Lemongrass” pays tribute to the richness of Malaysian heritage - a resilient, aromatic ingredient that harmoniously bridges bold Asian flavors with the sophistication of Western cuisine.
Led by Chef Ray Chen, a French-trained chef with a deep appreciation for local ingredients, the brand offers a unique culinary identity: Asian fusion with a Western twist. The Lemongrass specializes in boutique catering, delivering highly curated food experiences with elegance, finesse, and a personal touch.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE CRAFT
Chef Ray Chen — Head Chef
Ray’s passion for food was sparked at home by his mother, a hospital cook. He trained in French cuisine during an internship in Toulouse, France, and later helmed the kitchen at La Casa, Mont Kiara. Today, Ray infuses European techniques with Malaysian flavors to create distinctive, memorable dishes.

With a background in sales, medical tourism, and food certification, Hasli ensures that every Lemongrass operation meets both client expectations and industry standards. His experience in food safety and quality auditing brings a high level of professionalism to the team.
